Baccarat tables are a casino card game that are typically among the busiest areas in any gambling establishment, online and offline alike. The game attracts so many players because of the challenging mix of luck and skill it requires. Overall, online baccarat rules are quite easy to follow with no extensive gaming experience being required. Because of the luck factor, winning at baccarat is something no one can predict. So, when the unexpected victory does come, the adrenaline rush makes it all worth it!
Play is launched after a banker is established. The game features three principal bets: banker, player and tie. A player must either bet that the player hand will win, the banker hand will win or that there will be a tie between the two. Once the bets have been placed, both the player and the banker each receive a two-card hand. Cards are dealt from a shoe that contains six card decks. The goal is to create a hand with a point total closest to 9, without exceeding it.
According to online baccarat rules, cards 2 through 9 are worth their face value. 10's, J's, Q's, K's are worth zero and Aces are worth one point. After receiving their hand, players must calculate their point total. When the total value of cards in a player's hand equals or exceeds 10, the left digit of the number is dropped. For instance, a hand featuring 2 and 3 is worth 5. A hand featuring 6 and 7 is worth 3. The first digit is dropped because the initial total was higher than 10. Interestingly enough, the game is named after the worst possible hand, worth zero (baccarat means 'zero' in Italian).
In certain circumstances, a third card is dealt to the banker or the player or both of them. The third card deal rules are as follows:
A. If either the player or the banker holds a total of 8 or 9, no additional cards are dealt.
B. If the player holds a total of 5 or lower, the player receives another card.
C. If the player's hand features an initial total of 6 or 7, he must stand.
A. If the banker's hand totals 2 or less, he must draw another card.
B. If the banker's hand totals 3, he must draw another card. In case the player's third card is an 8, the banker is not required to draw an additional card despite holding the aforementioned hand total (3).
C. If the banker's hand totals 4, he must draw another card. In case the player's third card is an 0, 1, 8, 9, the banker is not required to draw another card.
D. If the banker's hand totals 5 and if the player's third card is 4,5,6 or 7, the banker must draw another card.
E. If the banker's hand totals 6 and the player's third card is 6 or 7, the banker must draw another card.
F. If the banker's hand totals 7, he must stand.
