Tequila Poker is a totally unique card game in which two games are actually combined into one: Tequila Poker, which is a Poker style game, and High Tequila, a high/low game. It’s this marvelous twist on conventional card games that has swiftly propelled Tequila Poker into becoming one of the most popular casino card games played on the Internet today.
How to play Tequila Poker
If you have some basic poker knowledge, you'll have no difficulty mastering Tequila Poker. If you’ve never played poker before, fear not; you’ll clue-in in no time at all.
To begin playing Tequila Poker, all you do is enter your ante and click the DEAL button. Four cards are then dealt face-up to the middle of the table. With these 4 initial cards, you then choose to continue playing the hand according to either Tequila Poker rules or High Tequila rules. Alternatively, you may fold your hand. But of course, this means forfeiting your ante.
Once you have chosen your preferred playing mode – Tequila Poker or High Tequila – your ante bet is automatically doubled and placed on the area on the table marked BET. Next, two additional cards are placed face-up beside the four cards initially dealt. In both modes, the final outcome of the hand is determined based on all six cards dealt.
Tequila Poker rules
In High Tequila, the five highest-ranking cards are added up together. (For your convenience, the total sum is automatically calculated for you and appears on your screen.) When the combined value of these five highest-ranking cards adds up to 46 or more, you win the hand and are paid out according to the High Tequila payouts posted on the Tequila Poker table. All number cards are worth their face value; Jacks, Queens and Kings are each worth 10, and Aces 11.

When you decide to play according to Tequila Poker’s rules, all six cards are used to build your best possible five-card poker hand. Draw a pair of Aces or higher and you’ve won the hand. The order of hand rankings in Tequila Poker is the same as in traditional five-card poker: Royal Flush, Straight Flush, 4-of-a-Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, 3-of-a-Kind, Two Pair, One Pair.
Regardless of which mode you opt to play in, the payouts in both relate only to your bet. The ante is always paid 1:1.
Tequila Poker is played with a single 52-card deck which is shuffled automatically following every round of play.
