Online Craps – The Basics

The craps game begins with players placing their bets on the various possible outcomes of the dice roll. The player rolling the dice, or ‘Shooter’, starts a round by throwing the “come out roll”. If the shooter rolls 2, 3 or 12 (craps) or either 7 or 11 (naturals) the round ends immediately. Any other number rolled sets a “point” value equal to that number and the dice rolls continue until the point number or a 7 are rolled. Players can make various bets on the outcome of these dice rolls: on totals that will appear, doubles, sevens, craps and many more. There are also four very common bets that, for your convenience, we have outlined below so you can make the best of your online craps experience when playing online craps:

Pass Line Bet

When you make a pass line bet, there are to ways for the outcome to be decided. Firstly, if the come out roll results in a 7 or an 11 then you win immediately. If the come out roll is 2,3 or 12 however, you lose. Secondly if the two cases above do not happen and a point is established then your pass line bet keeps running until either the point is rolled or a 7. If the point is rolled first then you win, if the 7 comes first then the round and your bet are over

Don't Pass Line Bet

Don't Pass Line Bets are the opposite of Pass Line Bets. If the Come Out Roll produces a 2 or 3, your bet wins. On the other hand, a 7 or 11 Come Out Roll means a loss. One slight change to the pass line bet is if the come out roll is 12.In this situation the wager becomes a "push" and the player’s stake is returned. If, after the come out roll, a point is established then the Don't Pass Line Bet wins if the shooter rolls a seven before rolling the point.

Come Bet

Come bets are similar to Pass Line bets but wagers are made later in the game. After the come out roll has defined a point, the players place their Come Bets by placing chips in the section marked “come”. The Come Bet wins immediately if the next dice roll is 7 or 11, and loses if it is a 2, 3, or 12. If neither of these occurs and the roll is 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, then the number rolled becomes the "Come Point". Like with Pass Line Bets, Come Bets win if the Come Point is rolled before a 7. When the opposite happens, the bet loses.

Don't Come Bet

Like with Pass Line and Don’t Pass Line, Don’t Come Bets are the reverse of Come Bets. If the initial roll produces a 2 or 3 the player wins, if it is 7 or 11 then the player loses. Once again a first roll of 12 results in a push and the player’s stake being returned. As before, a roll of 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 creates a come point only this time the player wins if a 7 is rolled before the come point.
